Trademark
A distinctive brand can be a valuable business asset. Before investing in a new name, logo, product label or service identity, consider whether it can be protected and whether its use may conflict with another party’s rights in Thailand.
Before Launching a Brand
Share the proposed mark, relevant goods or services and intended markets. A company-name approval, domain registration or social-media account is separate from trademark protection. Search results inform risk assessment but cannot guarantee registration or freedom from disputes.
Registration and Ongoing Use
The appropriate application depends on the mark, owner, goods or services and current requirements. Keep records of the mark actually used, relevant sales and changes in ownership. Renewal and other deadlines should be recorded and handled under an expressly agreed monitoring scope.
Brand Licensing and Disputes
Franchise, distribution and brand-use agreements should define who may use the mark, where, for what purpose and subject to what controls. If another party uses a similar mark, preserve examples and correspondence before contacting them or accepting a settlement.
Discuss Trademark Protection
Provide the mark, owner details, goods or services, countries of interest, application or registration numbers and relevant notices or deadlines.
